Working Together: Transitioning a Healthcare company to the State of New Jersey’s Healthcare Exchange
The Pierce Team partnered with a large Healthcare provider to help achieve goals in data management, performance, scalability, and to take their user experience to the next level on New Jersey’s Healthcare Exchange; making health insurance products available to a new audience. The innovative architecture met the needs of the new customer base and changed their message from business to business to business to consumer.
The Pierce Team built out a Data Access Layer, a series of APIs, and Web Services to tackle the new user types and significant increase in volume. The portals and data points built by the Pierce Team were integral in serving our Healthcare client’s customer base. The result was a system that out-performed its predecessor despite dealing with an increase in users 1000 times greater than the original system. The flexible architecture and system of APIs promotes an easier way to add new data and improve customer experience. Our solution consisted of a large Linux hosted Oracle clustered database farm. The Pierce Team worked diligently to build the right shell scripts, SQL statements, and stored procedures to create an optimal automated data management solution. Going a step further, we supported the development and implementation of a Master Data Management Solution, Integrated Data Store, and Enterprise Data Warehouse.
